Online broker eOption courts active traders who prioritize low costs over fancy tools, trading platforms and research. If that’s your game, you’ll probably be more than satisfied with the company’s rock-bottom stock and options trading commissions. EOption also has very reasonable margin rates — so reasonable, they landed it a spot on our list of best online brokers for day trading even though the broker ranks just 3.5 stars overall.

QUICK FACTS

  • Commissions: $3 per trade
  • Account minimum: $500

eOption is best for:

  • Low margin rates
  • Advanced traders
  • Low commissions
  • Automated trading

EOption delivers low costs to advanced, active traders who can avoid its extra fees and who don’t mind the lack of an advanced trading platform. Investors who trade on margin will also benefit from the broker’s very competitive margin rates. However, those who are willing to pay a bit more in commissions will probably favor a broker that offers advanced features, tools and research, such as OptionsHouse.

Note that as of 2016 the per option contract is 0.15 not 0.10. Additionally they did not open an account for me for unknown reasons, so my review is as negative as all the others, I did not even get an account even though I ahve been trading for 20 years! Although I already have 2 accounts elsewhere so there should be no compliance issues. The only competitor I found with equivalent low option per contract fees is ChoiceTrade.

Of course, NO GOOD!!!.
Eoption is crazy and cheap site so it is slower than other site.

In additional, support services are very sucks!!!.

Absolute bunch of jokers, sent me a four month out of date form> Took an hour to fill in and then didn't even apologize.
The incompetence is so bad it worries me how they will trade!

AVOID eoption. The worst by far. Options House is another cheap borker with a TON of tools, service and great execution.

You will waste your time with eoption, horrible platform, horrible customer service, and you end losing on many opportunities.

ditto what Adam says, funky, finicky, slow, computer system, my opinion is that their system is slow to move up and fast to move down (option chain) other sites seem to report changes is prices much faster therefore sell orders never quite “take” – if your stock us up $2 or more on Google or Yahoo it isn’t on the eoption chain. I am currently in the process of moving my money, their system has cost more than I have made with it.
